Nicotine and nicotine strengths
Nicotine and tobacco
We only use natural L-nicotine from the tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum) for happy liquid. In the body, L-nicotine triggers the stimulating and relaxing effects through activation of specific acetylcholine receptors (key-lock principle). These effects are well known to cigarette smokers. Synthetic nicotine (a blend of R-nicotine and L-nicotine) develops only half of the effects of natural nicotine, since the R-nicotine cannot dock on the human receptors.
Tobacco use (and with it nicotine consumption) dates as far back as the 10th century in South and Central America. Jean Nicot de Villemain brought the first tobacco seeds to Europe in 1560. In 1828, the effective component of tobacco was identified and named “nicotine” in honor of Jean Nicot.
Traditionally, nicotine is absorbed through the combustion of tobacco in cigars, cigarettes and pipes. However, you can also sniff or chew tobacco.
The triumph of the e-cigarette began with its invention by Hon Lik in 2001. The device vaporizes e-liquid containing nicotine instead of burning tobacco. This eliminates almost all of the harmful substances created by the burning of tobacco. For smokers and for the environment alike.
Which nicotine strength should I choose?
As a convert or newcomer to electronic cigarettes, people usually have a number of questions. One of these is bound to be, “What nicotine strength is right for me?”
In principle, you should start with as little nicotine as possible. If you find out the level of nicotine is not sufficient, you can simply switch to the next-highest dosage.
If someone wants to compare their (former) nicotine consumption from tobacco cigarettes to that of e-cigarettes, the only thing to do is compare the specifications on the packages, unfortunately.
In this case:
The information on cigarette packs refers “only” to the average amount of inhaled cigarette smoke. So even if 1 mg nicotine is specified on the packaging, each cigarette in this brand contains significantly more nicotine.
Why is this the case?
The reason for this is very simple: the amount specified relates only to lab conditions in a standardized test procedure. The legal maximum amount is 1 mg of nicotine.
A decisive factor in the nicotine intake is that all the nicotine content of the cigarette is not consumed.
It functions similarly for the e-cigarette. More or less nicotine is “delivered’, depending on the model.
This should not bother you, however, because smokers, like those who vape, sense the intake of nicotine almost immediately. Consequently, they use the given product in such a way that just the right quantity of nicotine is absorbed.
This is called self-titration. The user doses the intake amount that is optimal for them, unconsciously.
If the vapor still feels too “weak”, try a more powerful e-cigarette or an e-liquid with more nicotine.
If the vapor feels too “strong”, reduce the nicotine level or use an e-cigarette with less power.

In this way, we offer every customer the right solution for their nicotine needs.
Application of nicotine e-liquids:
- About 10 draws are equivalent to a classic cigarette.
