Youth Protection
A revised version of the German Protection of Young Persons Act came into force on 1 April 2016; this contains clauses to prevent the use of e-cigarettes by minors. From this date on, all online shops selling e-cigarettes, e-liquids and vaping items have been required to ensure that persons under the age of 18 are unable to order and receive these articles.
This means that for orders placed through our online shop, we are now required to verify the age of the ordering person while the carrier is also required to undertake a sight check of the age of the receiving person when delivering the package. In the following, we describe how to verify your age when ordering and the procedure when your order arrives.
- When ordering online: Age verification
Every customer must be verified once when placing an order. For this purpose, the age is verified with Schufa (no credit check) using the address, date of birth and name. Here our online store only receives the automatic answer: "age over 18" (yes/no). Alternatively, we enable age verification via the identity card. For this purpose, the customer's ID number is checked. The ID number is not saved, but is only used for age verification during the order process. - For delivery by UPS or DHL: age verification
The shipment will only be handed over by UPS or DHL to persons who are clearly no longer minors "on sight" or who can prove their age by presenting an official photo ID. In addition to the recipient, other persons of legal age in the same household are also entitled to receive shipments. Consignments will not be delivered to a neighbor, an agreed drop-off location or the parcel box. However, delivery to the workplace as the delivery address is still possible.
We hope that you do not experience problems when ordering products as a result of our measures designed to protect minors. If you have difficulties verifying your age online, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to help you (it's in our name!)
